May Day for Nurses was a tremendously successful campaign to persuade every premiership footballer to give up their salary for the last day of the season for a hardship fund for nurses. Public Zone designed a site for the campaign, encouraging people to sign up by creating a league table of football club fans who’d lent the campaign their support.
In seven weeks, 30,000 people signed up online, 5,000 people told us their stories and sent messages of support through the site. As a result, 255 players promised to give up a day's wage, raising a grand total of £750,000.
